How to extend Wifi to garden room using ethernet cable and BT disc?

I have built a garden room and am using it as a home office. I have installed a cat6 ethernet cable which runs from my BT router to the garden room, I currently have this plugged into a BT disc located in the garden room.

The disc seems to have a good connection when physically plugged into the ethernet cable (simply relying on wifi gives a poor connection) and devices will connect to it. However, every now an again (a few times a day) the disc light goes purple as if the disc is restarting. This also results in the wifi signal being dropped so I end up being disconnected from calls, albeit only for a minute or so. I have spoken to BT who thought it was a faulty disc so sent a new one but unfortunately the problem persists.

Have I done the right thing connecting the ethernet cable to the disc? Perhaps I should be using another piece of kit to connect to the router and properly extend the wifi to the garden room.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

You might find a wireless access point works better.
