IP Address not accessible

For some reason I'm not able to access a server on 192.168.1.253

The router/home network is 192.168.1.0/24

DHCP pool is 192.168.1.64 - 253

The servers IP (and subnet) is static, ie.not assigned by the hub.

I realise the address is inside the DHCP lease pool, but it's not assigned to anything. It's there any reason I should not be able to access it?

Any help would be really appreciated!

Don't understand this, do you mean you've changed the address of the Hub? If so I'm not sure 0 is a valid address.

Obvious things to try are limiting the DHCP pool to 250 or changing the server address to below 64.

Re: IP Address not accessible

Probably no consolation, but I have given a device an address of 192.168.1.253 in the past with no problems without changing the DHCP pool.

@rbz5416 that is the correct way to describe the OP's subnet.

@licquorice

I understand the /24 notation being a binary representation of 255.255.255.0 subnet but not the 192.168.1.0 IP address?

Re: IP Address not accessible

It's just the start address of the subnet, and is a valid address in itself.

Re: IP Address not accessible

Has the server previously used any other IP address?

Try IPconfig /release, IPconfig /flushdns and IPconfig /renew
