Laptop not connecting.

Not sure if this is the correct group, apologies if not

Mobile and my main tower PC connect OK, but have tried 2 different laptops and neither will connect to broadband.

Have tried switching off the router for a while before restarting, but still nothing.

It did come back last night, but won't connect again today, grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks

Re: Laptop not connecting.

Are these Windows 10 laptops and have you got a WiFi symbol/icon in the bottom right hand side of the notification area (Win 10)?

Re: Laptop not connecting.

Sorry but I'm out then if it's Windows 11.  Can you not Google this problem as there is a lot of info out there?

Re: Laptop not connecting.

Seem to recall a similar issue recently, it was the third party anti virus software that was the issue

Re: Laptop not connecting.

Yes, I run Surfshark VPN, and I can't open my photo webpage with that on, have to switch it off, but I have tried that, switched it off and no difference.

Thanks

Nothing, as far as I know, it's a mystery.

Re: Laptop not connecting.

Yes, I had already googled it, seems to happen quite often, but none of the answers , suggestions seemed to work.

Thought I'd come here and ask the experts. 😉

Thanks

Re: Laptop not connecting.

Try a factory reset of the BT hub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds.

When the hub is reconnecting restart, not just a power off,  your laptops to see if that helps.

You should also check that your laptops are not named the same.
