I have recently upgraded to BT Fibre but I need to move my router. The Fibre mains cable is not long enough to connect to the wall socket. Are there extensions available from BT or any other reputable dealer.
What would be the spec of this plug?
Full Fibre does not have a wall socket but an ONT (router) for which an ethernet cable (CAT5e or 6 up to 100mts can be used).
FTTC will use an RJ11 from the master socket..
Both are available on amozon or ebay in various lengths.
If you are on about 240v mains cable just use an ordinary mains extention cable.
Then, has already been suggested, just use a mains extension lead.
Edit: in your original post you said you wanted to move your router. The router doesn't need to be next to the ONT, it can be connected by up to 100 metres of Ethernet cable.
Can you explain exactly what it is you wish to do?
So how was it powered to test it when it was installed?
So how is moving the router involved?
How have you moved the ONT, that has a fibre connection and shouldn't be touched.
