Master socket 5c - and LOGIK LUFEX1515 Modem Extension Kit
Hi,
First time posting and no idea about these things, can you help a girl out please…
I have a master socket 5c in my front window sill and it’s in the way of getting blinds fitted as it’s so bulky.
I have been told I can’t get an electrician to move it, it has to be openreach at a cost of over £100.
Could I use a modem extension kit?
If so is it easy to do, I have basic diy knowledge.
Thank you

That's not a replacement for a master socket.
Any replacement will be of similar size to the 5c
Please edit out the link as it breaks forum rules for links to e-commerce sites.

TBH , there are things that should be done , and those that can be done , shifting an NTE5 although Openreach responsibility is not a challenging ‘DIY’ job and OR won’t know or care unless it goes wrong and you have to call them out via your ISP to fix the problem…and the chances of that are slim , as it’s only 2 wires , the item you identify isn’t really any use if the physical box is in the way .

TBH , if it’s only an issue while the blinds are being fitted , and once the blinds are done , the existing position is OK , then presumably you could temporarily disconnect it while the blinds are fitted and then reinstate it once the blinds are done , chances are there will be a little flexibility on the existing wiring anyway.

Sadly not while being fitted. The blinds will not go all the way down with it in its current position…
