Moving router

Go to solution

I would like to move my router to a better location in my flat to gain better overall WiFi coverage as currently it is near a window.

The distance between the ONT and the proposed new location of the BT Smart Hub 2 is about 5metres (say 6 to be on the safe side).

My question is what is this cable called that goes from the ONT to the WAN port on the router?

All I know is that its a red one 🙂

Do they sell then in 6metres lengths?

Where can I buy one?

Any other advice is welcome 🙂

Thanks in advance.

@Lycan

The colour means nothing, its just an Ethernet patch cable, available in lots of different lengths.

There are plenty of places that sell them, and they are very cheap.

An example, but there are other sellers, and you may be able to get one locally.
