Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit

There's  Galaxy A13 that keeps connecting and disconnecting but that could be because it was moving out of range.

There seems an awful lot of CWMP activity from BT which could be attempting a firmware update.

One other thing to try is to change the DHCP lease time to maximum which I think from memory is 14 days. I can't check as I use a Raspberry Pi for DHCP and DNS proxy rather than the hub.

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit

@licquorice

Thanks.

The Galaxy is my mobile (although it's a 23 not a 13) & I was using occasionally nearby. It was always connected but I'm not surprised if it went out of range, as I was pretty surprised it picked up my WiFi from there!

Anything I can do to complete the firmware update?

And how do I change the DCHP lease time?

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit

Yeah, typo, meant 23.

No, nothing you can do to complete firmware update

Go to advanced settings > my network > IPv4 configuration>DHCP

@licquorice

It was set to 1 day, so I've changed it to the max of 21 days.

@SludgeIsland just wondering as it’s gone a bit quiet,  has the EE Router turned up yet?

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit

@pddco

My internet connection has held perfectly for 10 days now. I had another SMS last Friday saying my fault had been rectified, and my complaint closed. Numerous calls to BT last week regarding the EE SmartHub Plus reveal that it was just a lie, presumably to shut me up for a week - which didn't work as I phoned every day (I even got the same Guide two days on the trot!), and was promised a callback every time, which never came!

As to the root cause of the problem, I guess I'll never know. BT will not tell me. SmartHub number 3 is now working perfectly! What i do know is that if this fault reoccurs, I will be giving BT hell. Now I wait for the compensation from 23/12/24 when the fault reared it's ugly head.

All of you experiencing this problem,  @Groo @Niltechy  and others, I share your frustration,  and hope BT get to the bottom of it.  Don't give up!

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit

@SludgeIsland

Great to hear & long may it last!

Today is the day they are supposedly doing the 'cease & re-provide'. The hub has been flashing pink all day so far, and the EE mini hub they sent is allowing me to connect to WiFi.  Bizarrely, my PC still says it's connected to Wifi via the BT hub but I caught it out by trying to open internet & it said no. That smart hub seems to get confused very easily 😀

Like you, they keep sending me texts saying they are going to close the fault, so when the complaint lady phones this afternoon I'm going to ask her to get them to please stop doing that.

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit

Well that's the smart hub showing blue lights again, and giving me internet/wifi. I will get another phone call from complaints lady but I've told her not to phone for a week, so I can then hopefully confidently state it has worked for 7 days!
