PS5 on 4G wifi

I have just moved to a house which has no wired broadband, so need 4G wifi. I've bought a 4G wifi connection with EE, but it seems to be actively blocking any connections to a PS5, or playing Fortnite online through a PC even!

Is anyone able to confirm whether or not BT 4G broadband has the same issue? I don't want to take out a contract only to find we have the exact same problem. Appreciate that 4G wifi is obviously not ideal for gaming, but it's the only choice we have, so I need to make sure I get the best one I can.

Thanks

Re: PS5 on 4G wifi

Google your problem and you'll probably find a fix on the EE forums...

It appears to be a DNS setting 👍🏻

@danielctuck

Many 4G mobile broadband connections use CGNAT (Shared IP address), that means that its not possible to do any form of port forwarding, which will stop other user connecting to your PC.

I have a 4G router as a backup, using the Three network (PAYG). Provided you use the correct APN, then you get a proper routable public IP address.

I use this router https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/3g-4g-router/tl-mr6400/

I am not saying that port forwarding is the issue, but its most likely.
