I had BT Infinity as my main router and a BT Smart Hub 2 in my shed for the last 2 years, no issues.
This week I got BT Full Fibre 500 installed, BT Hub has stopped working, so I thought that I would use my old BT Smart Hub 6 as a Slave Hub in Shed.
When I type 192.168.1.254 into browser, I get up manager, but when I try to type in Admin Password, it gets denied every time.
I have reset the hub, tried pressing WPS button, waiting on flashing blue lights, overriding password, it lets in input all details, but then locks me out again.
Help please

Are you connecting directly to what you call "Hub 6" without a connection either to the main Hub or a connection between the two Hubs? If not you will have conflicting IP addresses as both Hubs will be on 192.168.1.254 until you change the address of "Hub 6".
Good evening
That is my plan, change IP address, turn off DHCP, Firewall etc, but I keep getting denied access when I try to log on to BT Hub Manager.
i have reset router, followed all necessary steps, but just keeps denying me access.
Wishing I had stayed with BT Infinity,
You haven't answered the questions so difficult to comment further.
Apologies
I am connecting the HH6 to my network using an ethernet cable.
The BT Full Fibre Hub 500 is using up all its ports:
Port 1: Ethernet from ONT box
Port 2: Netgear Switch
Port 3: CCTV
Port 4: SKY Booster
I have plugged the HH6 Slave Hub directly into one of the Netgear ports
I have reset the HH6 Slave Hub, numerous times, just get a pink flashing light
Tried to override, press WPS Button, waited for blue flashing light, followed instructions, typed all passwords, it saves all information, then when I try to log back in to make relevant changes, keeps saying ACCESS DENIED -
I tried a Smart Hub 5 also, but I get the same result
You have to make the configuration changes on the hub6 by directly connecting your laptop to it without it being connected to your network otherwise you will have 2 devices with the same 254 address.
Not sure how your main hub is working if you have connected the ONT to port1, port4 is the WAN port.
The hub6 will always be flashing purple as it won't have DSL input.

This is what I was getting at. Again as above, when making changes to HH6 it can't be connected to the rest of your network & neither can the PC you're making the changes from.
You can turn off the lights on HH6 but not on HH5.
Apologies for ignorance
do I need to connect to a different network ie family or friend and then set it up of use a different IP address than main hub
I don't know what you're referring to?
You need a single connection from a PC to the HH6 only. Again the HH6 must not be connected to anything other than the PC configuring it. The PC must not be connected to anything other than the HH6. Both of these conditions are required until you have reset the IP address & turned off DHCP.
Just disconnect the hub6 from everything, connect your laptop to the hub6 via an Ethernet cable. Connect to the hub 6 at 192.168.1.254
Give the hub6 an IP address of 192.168.1.10 and turn off DHCP. Save the changes. You will now be able to connect to the hub6 at 192.168.1.10 and your main hub at 192.168.1.254
Connect the 2 hubs together and you are good to go.
