Re: Garden Office WiFi

Not sure if this is the correct way to ask a question, but what internet speeds could i expect in my garden office? i have a TP link powerline set up. next to the hub i get around 300 mbps. Test in the office shows around 15mbps.

Re: Garden Office WiFi

How long is a piece of string. It is entirely dependent on the quality of your mains wiring and whether the 2 ends are on different ring mains.

The only way to guarantee good speed is an Ethernet cable.

Re: Garden Office WiFi

Powerline adapters are totally hit & miss - if your garden office is on a different mains circuit to the socket the adapter connected to the router is on then the throughput can be very poor.

As has been said the only safe way to ensure a good connection is to run an ethernet cable down the garden. WiFi repeater solutions would likely be subject to interference from your neighbours (unless you live a long way from anyone else).
