Router or booster?

Go to solution

Hi.  I upgraded my broadband

Today white box came in post. Smart wifi it says on the box

One person from bt said it was a wifi booster. The other one said was my new router.  I took my old router out and put this on and didn't work.    Is this a router or booster?  There's a plug for it but nothing about what it actually replaces

Cheers

Sounds like one of these, which is an EE mesh device for extending their WiFi 6 router.

That would suggest that you've been moved to EE, but as you've given no info on this "upgrade", we can only guess.

It won't let me see the picture

I've upgraded to Fibre 150 Complete Wi-Fi

If it is that do I need to put anything in the yellow ethernet ssocket or just power it up and pair it?

If its a smart WIFI box its a booster, pair it to your hub with either the ethernet cable or using the WPS buttons till it goes solid aqua then reposition it half way between your hub and where you need better WIFI signal

I've just received an email saying they're sending me a wifi disc.  Do I need this as well and the booster.

You can see how it goes with just the booster @Bricks86

If you find that you need more coverage, then the disc will be an option to install.
