Hello, is it possible when someone logs on to my network that I can have it redirect to my website via the router? Ive read some where this might be possible I have the hub 2
Please be patient with me ☺️
Thanks in advance
I think you need to be a bit more specific in what you are wanting.
If you mean can you run a website on a PC on your network and make it accessible to the internet, then the answer is yes. You will need to give the relevant device a static LAN IP address on the device itself, forward the relevant ports (80 and 443) to the address and then use a Dynamic DNS service to steer people to your dynamic public IP address.
If your website is hosted by a hosting company your router and home network are not involved in any way.
Hi thanks for the reply my website is hosted by a company I want to offer WiFi to my customers who visit the shop but what I would like is that when they connect to my WiFi it redirects them to my website like what happens when you sign in to a public hotspot or a hotel i.e travel lodge
I assume you are a business customer in which case you need to post on the business forum as the residential hub is different to the residential hub. https://business.forums.bt.com/
I doubt it will be possible directly, but there may be third party software that you can use.
Hi thank you I'm not a business customer as of yet as I'm still in the start up stage
Try https://business.bt.com/products/broadband-and-internet/guest-wifi/
I think there is a customised version where you can re-direct customers to your own page, just like they do in the M&S stores.

If you are running a shop, then that would be classed as business usage, which is not permitted on a residential account. To get full backup support, and a fast repair time, BT Business is really the only option.
I would strongly advise that you go down that route, as it will save you a lot of hassle in the long run, as what you are asking, is not a problem for business users.
Why not ask what is possible, by posting on the BT Business forum. Its recently bee re-launched, and has active moderators who are BT Employees.

You do not have to be a BT Business customer to post on that forum, and ask questions.

There is no guest network facility on the residential Home Hub

Thanks that cleared up my question I will be choosing BT business
Post on their forum and ask. The moderators there are very helpful.
