Safe search locked on in Google and bing

I recently noticed that safe search is permanently on in Google and Bing. I switched off my web protect option and parental controls but this is still the case. Google says that it might be my network that is preventing this from being shut down. I also have noticed that I can't access some sites I used to be able to by switching parental control off. Is this some policy change now that BT have switched over to EE?

Just to say I'm having problems - I've posted elsewhere. So far a reboot of router hasn't helped :O(

Well, this just went away. Not sure or why, I couldn't be arsed to wait on the phone queue, but a month later, it's gone - go figure.
