Setting up a network on a BT wifi Disc

Hi

Apologies up front, my IT skills are limited so I may use the wrong terminology at times. I have setup up a small office in my loft with two PC's running the Win 10. Due to being unable to run cabling I used a BT wifi disc ( router is two floors down) with a cat 6 lan cable from the disc into an 8way distribution box and then cables to my PCs. Everything works fine with great speeds.

However, I am unable to get the PCs to see each other no matter what I try, can anyone give a step by step beginners guide on how to do this or is it not possible due to using the wifi disc?

@davidtorbitt

Is this a black BT Complete WIFI disc, or a white BT Whole Home disc?

I assume you are a BT Broadband customer?

Re: Setting up a network on a BT wifi Disc

Then provided you are using a BT Smart Hub 2, you should be able to connect things up the way you have.

Sharing between two Windows 10 PC requires that both connection properties are designated as private networks and not public networks, otherwise file sharing will not work.

Plus lots of other guides.
