Hi,
My apologies if this has been covered but I am moving into a large new build house in a few weeks and just need to order everything in advance.
I plan on using the Smart Hub 2 without wifi but powering 2 of the Ubiquiti U6-LR devices via Cat 6 cables (ground and 1st floor).
Question 1 Is this setup possible? I've been reading things like 'double nat' etc. but I'm a complete novice.
Question 2 Can I power the U6-LRs straight off the Smart Hub 2 as in poe?
Question 3 Is a 3rd party router a preferable solution?
I don't need any digital voice setup.
Thanks in advance for any answers!

Yes, no, yes.
Thanks for that-if I go for the Vigor 130, will that power the U6-LRs directly?
The Vigor 130 is a DSL modem rather than a router.
What broadband service do you have? If it is full fibre (FTTP) you just need a router. The U6 are just wireless access points as far as I'm aware so you will need a router in any case.
The broadband service is showing as 75 Mbps FTTC so I'm guessing I could feed a poe switch from the Vigor 130 and then the U6-LRs from the switch?
But the Vigor 130 is a modem, not a router and as far as I'm aware the U6-LR is just a WAP not a router either so you will have no router with that configuration.
Ah, so my setup should be Vigor130--Router--U6-LRs ?
Yes, but not sure why you are fixated on the Vigor.
Either use the BT hub - Poe switch- U6 or
Third-party modem/router- Poe switch - U6
You might even find a third-party modem/ router with Poe capability.
Thanks again for the info-I fixated on the Vigor because it seemed to be a popular choice on the forum but now that I have a better idea of what the requirements are with my setup, I will broaden my search.
Make sure you look for VDSL modem/ routers. Check back with the forum if unsure of suitability.
