I've recently swapped from my home hub (3 I think) and all in the house is working fine but the tp link Wireless N Access Point TL-WA801N I had working in my out building is now not working when connected as before using ethernet.
what am I missing in set up?
Try a different Ethernet port on the Smarthub.
Did you change the WAP to have the same SSiD as the new Smarthub.
There is no setup to do but just make sure if you are using port4 that it hasn't been configured in full fibre (FTTP) mode.
