I've recently changed to a Smart Hub 2 and since then all devices have connected to the Internet with no issues, but am unable to access any of the Windows devices on the home network from any other Windows device on the same network, it worked perfectly before the change. The only work around I've found so far is to connect an 8 port switch to one of the ports on the router and connect the devices to that. Is there a setting on the router that needs to be changed to allow local access?
Thanks.
There's no setting on the hub that will affect that.
What router were you using before?
Another BT hub, but can't remember the model.
Try a factory reset of the hub and disable/enable the network adapters on your Windows devices to get a clean start.
I've already done all of that to no affect.
Can you navigate to 192.168.1.254 from a browser ?
Out of interest, did you get the new hub from BT or buy it from Amazon or eBay etc?
When you connect to a new network, Windows automatically designates it as Public. This disables sharing/visibility between PCs. Check the settings & switch to Private if that is the issue:
Yes can get to the Router and see all of the settings etc.
