Re: How to turn lights off on complete WiFi disks

Thanks for the reply Licquorice.  Maybe you can point me in the right direction.

So: In MyBT App > More> Your WiFi Network

Options then are

"Smart Hub 2" -  allows alteration of hub light setting then > "Connected devices" - this shows connected discs and allows renaming (but nothing else)

Control WiFi access (allows time dependent settings) and Manage your WiFi settings (change name and password)

Can't see any option to change light setting on disks.  Help please!

Re: How to turn lights off on complete WiFi disks

MyBT> more > your WiFi network gives me a graphic of connected devices. Select disc which gives multiple options including changing light settings.

Silly question. Are you sure your disc is connected to the hub?

Re: How to turn lights off on complete WiFi disks

Hi again.  Perfectly sensible question and they are connected to the hub!  However, the answer is nearly as daft.

The discs I have are BT Whole Home discs and the App I should be using is the Whole Home WiFi App not the MyBT App (the MyBT App does, a bit confusingly allow you to see the Whole Home discs configured on your network and to rename them but not turn off the light).

I'm pretty sure I used the MyBT app to set them all up on the new hub I was sent when they changed the phone lines to digital a month or two ago.

Not sure why there are 2 apps but presumably there are different types of disc available from BT?  Or maybe one app hasn't yet been superseded by the other.

Anyway the lights are all as needed now and I won't need the black vinyl tape!  Thanks for your help!!!

Re: How to turn lights off on complete WiFi disks

Answering my own question it's BT Complete (black discs) vs BT Whole Home (white discs).  Former come with BT subscription latter can be purchased independently.  Therefore presumably two separate Apps.  I'm a bit more educated now at least!

Re: How to turn lights off on complete WiFi disks

They are totally different systems. Complete WiFi only works with the smart Hub2 and forms a mesh with it. The whole home discs work with any router and form an independent mesh separate to the router and needs to be connected by Ethernet
