TV and 3rd party fibre router

Go to solution

I'm mulling over my options re going Full Fibre with BT (probably the Full Fibre 100 option).

Currently I have a TP-Link Archer VR2800 router for FTTC BT broadband. The router is rock solid, unlike my experience with the Smart Hub 2. I also have BT TV (Sport only) and am wondering if my current configuration would still work should I make the move to BT FTTP or if I'll need to keep the SH2 connected instead to be able to continue with BT TV.

Has anyone tried this router, or any other 3rd party alternative, with BT TV and BT FTTP, and had any success with them?

if you move to BT FTTP then you will probably move to digital voice so if you use your landline for making/receiving calls then you will need to use the SH2 connected directly to ONT

Thank you @imjolly

I had forgotten about DV requiring the SH2. Shouldn't be difficult to get a few bob for the TP-Link on our local Buy and Sell 👍
