The USB port on my BT smarthub A Is no longer accessible using my Iphone. Which means I can no longer stream music from a USB drive.
This has been caused by a firmware update Please let me know when BT will rectify this.
Serial number:
Firmware version: SG4B1000E081
Firmware updated:26-Feb-2023

Is it possible that the update affected one of your settings or added something else where the default setting doesn't work for you?
I don't use a Smarthub for anything like that so I'm just speculating.
Thank you for your help.
There have been posts of this problem occurring after firmware update SG4B1000E081 from “SteveinIoW” and “ChrisN56”
Does anyone know how or if it is possible to resolve this?
I use FilebrowserPro & MusicStreamer both iOS apps from Stratospherix
I have not changed any settings on the hub.
Apparently the function has been disabled - you can't access a memory stick vis the USB port on the rear of your SmartHub 2
You are posting on a 2 year old thread, but yes you can access the usb port at the rear of the Smart Hub2. It has not been disabled but you need to use smb1 which is deprecated and disabled by default on must devices.
I just had a conversation with BT Support and they told me it was no longer supported and was only for use by BT Engineers. I asked them to make that clear to users instead of us wasting our time trying to make things work that they had disabled and they agreed to forward the request up the management line.
As usual, they were talking nonsense.
I wonder how I am managing to use it.
@cadogangb I'm not sure that's accurate, my SH2 has firmware v0.44.00.04123-BT updated 25-Feb-2025, and a USB drive can be accessed via the web at 192.168.50.253/usb1 (that would more commonly be 192.168.1.254/usb1) or via file explorer with the device being BT Home Hub 6DX File Server (this is a SH2!).
Try connecting to 192.168.1.254/usb1 in a browser, and if that works you should be able to add it as a file location, unless the os on your iPhone no longer allows access to such devices!
There is the possibility this is different for a SmartHub "A" whatever that is!
