USB hdd connected to router

Am looking to change my broadband supplier.

Want to be able to have an USB hdd connected to router: this hdd to be used as a backup for certain folders of my laptop.

Is this possible with the router currently being shipped with Fibre 2 package?

Re: USB hdd connected to router

Yes, but do not expect it to be fast. Your laptop would also need to have SMB1 enabled, as its disabled by default on Windows, but can be enabled.

This only applies to the BT Smart Hub 2 and earlier.

Reading on the EE forums, it appears that its not supported on the EE hub.
