Use Asus AX92U instead of Smart Hub 2

I do not have FTTP and want to use my asus router so i can connect it up to a mesh network.

What would be the best way to do this?

I don't use the phone/digital voice.

Re: Use Asus AX92U instead of Smart Hub 2

The AX92u units are some of Asus first attempts at WiFi6 (AX), as such they're okay but not earth-shattering.  Your basic options for using these are:

  1. Buy a VDSL2 modem and use them directly, but you'll lose Digital Voice
  2. Set the AX92 up as an access point connected by ethernet to your BT SH2.  You'll keep DV but lose the advanced features of the AX92

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!

Re: Use Asus AX92U instead of Smart Hub 2

Thanks, i have the ax92u and also ax58u that i have from my old house which i had connected and worked like a mesh system.

i dont want to spend alot so would it be worth buying wifi 6 access points or make use of the asus routers i have and set up like a mesh system or would that not work and i would just use the2 routers as APs.

ideally dont want to go down the modem route as i am hoping fttp comes into my area by the end of the year.
