I have BT Broadband, Fibre 2 with the BT Smart Hub 2. It works reasonably well but having some issues with reliability, connectivity and coverage.
I recently bought the AX1800 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router which I thought would replace the BT Home Hub but apparantly its just a router and not a modem. I can't get an internet connection.

Can anyone advise what is the best modem/router to use to replace the BT Smart Hub and the simple steps to set it up.
Thank you in advance
Probably hg612 modem is needed - ebay
First off, if you have Digital Voice, then you will need to stick with the BT Hub as the phones will only work with the BT Hub.
There are multiple posts already on this BT Forum that discuss various modems to use and how to connect etc, have a search for them through the forum, or use Google search if easier!
Just note that you'll need to change the PPPoE connection to username of 'bthomehub@btbroadband.com' and password is either left blank or 'BT' if needed.
You can find full details on the EE page here, although they are the same for BT too..
