WIFI in garden room

WIFI needed for new garden room. Electrician has set up ethernet cable from BT hub to garden room - socket on wall which I assume was ok to attach a second router to but isnt working. I have read new router needs to be configured, is there an easier solution.? A wireless N access point is one.?

Re: WIFI in garden room

You don't need a router. A simple wireless access point is all that is required. If you already have a spare router you can configure it as pseudo wap by giving it an IP address of 192.168.1.10, disable DHCP and connect the Ethernet cable to one of its LAN ports.
