Wi-Fi connectivity issues to wireless speaker

Hi,

I migrated from Sky Fibre over to BT Home Fibre a couple of months ago and no matter what i try ie, connect the speaker to the Hub using an ethernet, or change/switch off and change between the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz channels, the speakers simply will not connect wirelessly. They Hub recognises the speaker, which i can see via the Hubs portal, but only as a wired connection and when connected via wired connection, the speakers still won’t play. These are a £1,000 pair speakers, so I’m not going to just bin, just the poor router!!!

Perhaps if you gave the make and model of the speakers it might assist members if they try to help.

Re: Wi-Fi connectivity issues to wireless speaker

Have you tried a factory reset of the speakers to clear out any residual settings from your previous set up.

Factory Reset.
1. Use a paperclip/pin to hold the reset button (marked with a triangle) on the back of
the Master Speaker for approximately 5 seconds until the back LED flashes orange.
Wait until the back LED stops flashing.
2. Close down the app completely.
3. Unplug the power cable from the Master Speaker.
4. Wait approximately 60 seconds.
5. Reinsert the power cable.
6. The Master Speaker LED should be alternating between white and orange. It may
take up to 1 minute for the LSX to become discoverable.
7. Run the KEF Control app, choose ‘Setup New Speaker’ and follow the instructions.
If the problem persists please check the following:
The LSX broadcasts at 2.4G on channel 1. If your router is also broadcasting at 2.4G
on channel 1, you may not be able to see your LSX. Try to change your router to
another channel (please see your router manual for details).
Disable any VPN apps on your phone as they may interfere with Wi-Fi detection

Re: Wi-Fi connectivity issues to wireless speaker

If the reset that's already been mentioned doesn't work and there are remaining Sky boxes (Qs, Minis etc) try turning them off and see if everything else then works fine!

Re: Wi-Fi connectivity issues to wireless speaker

Thank you, but I’ve tried all of the instructions that you kindly provided, but the turning off our Sky boxes and Sky Glass, (which was a mistake), which has also been suggested I’ll give a go.

Thank you

Re: Wi-Fi connectivity issues to wireless speaker

*Not aware of any Sky Glass TVs ever causing an issue - it's mostly various Sky boxes working as Network Extenders and causing loops/network storms when used with none-Sky kit!  It's not just a BT issue but seems to affect all other ISPs even for users with their own equipment - It's a Sky thing!!
