Have just received a Smart Hub 2 to replace my faulty Smart Hub 1, I've always had issues with the BT hubs of devices connecting to the WiFi but not getting internet access, which has caused issues setting up smart devices but found that splitting the signal helped some of that, on this one as can't split the signal tried to turn the 5ghz signal off but did nothing, if anything made the connection even worse sometimes having to cycle through connecting/disconnecting 5 times on my phone to actually have an internet connection. Tried resetting router but found it no help and 2 Amazon echo devices had to be cycled through to get an internet connection. My ring doorbell is just not having any of it with this router no matter what I try. Tried searching but can't find many people with a similar issue, I've had it to varying degrees with 3 different smart hubs (2 version 1 and 1 version 2) does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this or any solutions?
Try adding a static IP address for each device.
Just checked and the one echo show device which is struggling to stay connected to the internet is already assigned a static address. Tried connecting the ring doorbell to a hotspot on my phone and worked first time so no issues with the actual doorbell. Have ordered a new router now to replace the smarthub as it's pretty much a waste of plastic when it comes to WiFi performance.
I've found I also have to add the router IP into the network address to get connected. It's very frustrating. 😞
