Another option you should consider if you cannot run Ethernet cable to your PC are Powerline adapters. These basically allow you to run Ethernet over your mains electrical wiring. They are available in different speeds upto 1gb (iirc) though don't expect to get that in the real world, they can also act as WiFi extenders depending on model. Some community members have had great results using them, some have been very disappointed - not sure why. I have not actually used them - but am sure others on here will be able to give recommendations as to models.

Thanks. I've been looking at the WiFi options and ordered a WiFi plus Bluetooth PCIE card and I'll see if that works any better than my older USB WiFi adapter.
