You could utilise an old router if you have one, it's not hard to do but it does require a cable connection between the two routers.
Hi sorry to jump on this thread but hoping my question is relevant to the thread and will also answer my own curiousity.
If as you say I can use another router as a wifi extender and it needs to be hardwired could this connection be done with the inclusion of broadband extenders to allow for the ethernet connection between the two routers?

I'm sure many people do just that but I wouldn't recommend it if you're a gamer or heavy user
The easy way & most cost effective is to use the Powerline Adapters. My BT fibre router wont even reach into next room some 20Mtrs away, tried 2 they are "Rubbish". The BT powerline died now have the TP link pair, which gives 2 ethernet outputs for TV & Humax. Works great, go for it. Rgds.
