bad routing / rubberbanding / lag / ping spikes /

Go to solution

your routing to azure games servers seem to be complete garbage, ping sometimes double to london which used to be 15ms, sometimes it goes to 28/30 and then other times it spikes in the triple digits, even playing diablo 4 there seems to be an issue with the rubberbanding and disconnecting, also the bt router makes  a weird noise, like crackling sounds when you start to dl or stream, but using my own router instead of that cheap pos with no usb ports like its made in 1998 or something, so its not the cheap routers problem

the 2nd line which is talktalk is stable with no ping jitter and spikes, can you fix it untill i switch back to talktalk, or do i just suffer with this trash internet untill then?

i spoke to the BT people on X and they thought routing means router so i told them theyre dumb and they blocked me for telling them theyre dumb and should know the diffrence between routing and a router/modem, so can you fix it so its not so bad for the next 2/3 weeks it takes to switch?

This forum is populated just by BT's customers, so none of us can fix anything I'm afraid. We are not BT employees.

Rather than just use the post to throw insults at BT, which will achieve very little, even more so in a community were 99% of the people here are also customers.....why not post your investigation, examples of bad routing and why you think its specifically the ISP's fault?

I do alot of online gaming and to UK servers I get a ping of 7....and its solid more or less all the time, internet speed test yield a consistent ping of around 11.

Youre not approaching this correct, I'm not surprised you were blocked on X.

@chrisjp is right, no one here can solve routing related issues but its still good to actually post your workings.

oh ok thanks i guess, using talktalk i dont have this routing issue, ping stable, jitter is less, guess BT is just bloody trash internet then, will switch before march anyways, was just hoping someone couldve fixed it so its not complete garbage untill i switch but i guess BT and its fans would be butthurt and wont want to fix it cause i will be leaving this trash isp,

wrong place to ask for help if you have ping/routing problems, people will just tell you their pc specs and say it works for them so it must work for you low iq type stuff, just change ISP if you have internet problems
