configuring wifi-extenders

hi all

I am trying to use a wi-fi extender as an access point (extending my wifi network) for a ring doorbell at the bottom of my garden. The access point has a ethernet cable running directly from the back of the router to it. I have tried to configure two separate extenders (brostrend AC1200) and a wireless-n repeater. In both cases with the extenders sitting a metre away from the router, powered and connected with a working ethernet cable, neither will allow me to configure successfully. I can access the local network they both provide in order to try and gain access to their admin page. I can't open the admin page of the wireless-n once I enter the 192. xxx address. it just times out. I can access the admin page of the AC1200 but it comes up as an error saying it's unable to access the router. I am thinking there is possibly a firewall issue stopping me successfully connecting here. I am a MacBook user who has tried to connect using three different browsers, safari, chrome and Firefox without success. any help would be appreciated.

Re: configuring wifi-extenders

There is no firewall issue, everything is within your LAN. Are you sure the Ethernet cable is good, have you tried a different LAN port on the hub?
