Hi, i've just upgraded to Halo 3. Unfortunately the new hub has only three usable ethernet ports, i need four. Not sure what device i should get to rectify this. as they all need to be operational at the same time. Any help appreciated
Any unmanaged Ethernet switch will do. Just connect one port to a LAN port on your hub and you will have n-1 ports left to use. An example of a 5 port switch https://www.tp-link.com/uk/business-networking/unmanaged-switch/tl-sg105/ about £16 from Amazon
The 4th port on the SmartHub 2 is switchable between ethernet & WAN - which is the default.
If you've not got FTTP then in the settings - not sure exactly where - you can switch it back to ethernet so would save an extra bit of kit.
Otherwise the switch that @licquorice has suggested would be the perfect choice.
@sheradam As @TimCurtis says, if you are not using port4 as a WAN port, you can change it to a LAN port in Advanced Settings > Broadband > Internet > Full Fibre (FTTP) Mode > Off
