optimising 3rd party router for gaming and reduce bufferbloat

got a DSL-AC88U I'm trying to get the settings sorted out bt are refusing to help me and telling me to go back to my hub could anyone tell me the dsl modulation, annex mode, vdsl profile and anything else needed. when i set it up I did the  bt email with BT password. and in wan settings ive got PPoE with Vland id 101. I just wanted to reduce bufferbloat as its really bad on my bt hub if anyone could walk me through that would be great, Thanks in advance.

@jasonh99

The best way is to use the wizard and select your ISP etc.

The username is bthomehub@btbroadband.com and any password. Actually the username can be anything @btbroadband.com .

The rest should be as the Asus sets it up. I've the AC68U and don't think I've changed any of the default settings for the broadband.

If the wizard doesn't do it for you properly I'll post some images for you.

What broadband are you on BTW. The AC88U supports G.Fast which is up to 150mbs or are you on Fibre 1 or 2?

Do you have QoS set on at all? There is a setting in there for Gaming which might have some influence.

On mine these DSL Settings are under the Administration tab, I think you're looking at the WAN tab.

How on earth do you expect BT help desk to be aware of the settings for every third party router on the planet.

You wouldn't ring Ford for advice on a Vauxhall.
