BT Sport Offer with BT Broadband

Go to solution

I received an email for offers from BT a week or two ago, I clicked through and there was an offer of BT Sport for £1 per month for a 24 month contract which would also extend my broadband contract by 24 months stating a saving £408.

there was a *

*this is based on the standard bt sport package cost.

When looking this up it seems for a broadband customer £18 per month is the standard bt sport cost. I clicked through to add to basket and went on until i got to the screen before checkout. It stated £18 per month from month 4. This would only equate to a saving of £51 rather than the £408 stated. £408 being £432 - £24 (£18 x 24 = £432 - £1 x 24 = £24 )

so is the £408 saving all a big mistake?

I've called but the guy I spoke too had an attitude and wasn't helpful and then messaged on twitter and was given a number to phone the loyalty team ended up going through to the same department i phoned initially. Lady I spoke to this time said she didn't have access to online deals and that was the end of it.

Re: BT Sport Offer with BT Broadband

The way I interpret what you posted is that BT are offering a £17/ month discount off the standard price  (currently £18) , the current standard  promotional offer price on sale  is  I believe £1 for 3 months and £18 from month 4 with the annual price increases to apply in March , So you appear to be being offered a £17 discount of the standard price for the 24 months (rather than the 3 months that would apply if you didn’t take the personal offer). If during those 24 months you opted to flex your package (eg move from Sport to Entertainment package) then the new package  that you flexed to would normally be at a standard price (ie without discount).

Hi @jdee20212, we would like to look into this further. Do you still have the original email?
I've sent you a Private Message so you can get in touch with the Mod team and we'll get this investigated further.

Cheers

John

Re: BT Sport Offer with BT Broadband

I've had the same offer when I logged into myBT, and then the same thing happen when you get to the checkout.  The £408 is correct as £1/month for 24 months instead of £18/month for 24 months is £17*24 = £408, but that's not what you then get.

Chatted online and got the same unhelpful response as you so asked for who to complain to about the false advertising.  I've sent all the proof to BT and suggest you do the same and then follow up with ofcom if they don't resolve it.

I’m also experiencing the same discrepancy  (ie £18 from month 4 in checkout), if the offer is still available tomorrow I will try contacting BT too, have you heard anything else from them?

I’m still seeing a saving of £408 in my offers however still get the ‘£18 from month 4’ in checkout, how is this correct?

Re: BT Sport Offer with BT Broadband

Even at that it still states a discount of £17 pet month and doesn't state when that discount ends. So false advertising
