BT sport contract ends soon

My BT sport contract end in a few weeks (been watching all the sport on Discovery + with my BT login). What happens now? I guess BT sport will not appear on my BT bill?   Do Discovery + automatically ask my to take out a subscription?
Thanks in advance.

Re: BT sport contract ends soon

The contract will continue on a rolling 30 day basis - nothing with your ability to watch it changes.
the only change may be if you are getting any discounts they will drop off.

It would be worth your while in calling BT up and looking at new package options see if you can better your price

Re: BT sport contract ends soon

Thank you, at the moment I am paying £10.78 per month (I had the sports app when it was transferred to discovery+).
I see the discovery+ app that I get is £30.99 per month! so are you saying that I would still pay BT when the contract ends but it will be the full price?

Re: BT sport contract ends soon

@royc  Typically if you have BT or EE broadband a reduced price for TNT Sports via discovery+  subsciption is available and payment would be via BT/EE. That might be of the order of  £20 month rather than the full app price.  Your existing contract would normally as other posters have said continue once any minimum term ends but price you pay would reflect the absence of the discounts you benefitted from under the (minimum term) contract.

Advice really is to check what BT have told you already as to the terms of the contract you already have as to what occurs at culmination of the minimum term and to talk to them about your options after that point.

You seem to have had BT sport and hence TNT sport for a long time so you may be on some legacy deal so best advice is to get BT to explain precisely what you will be charged  if you do nothing and what options are for renewal or alternative deals.

Re: BT sport contract ends soon

As stated, your contract doesn’t end , the minimum term may expire and that may or may not cause an increase in price , if the terms stated that you were given a discount while inside a minimum term , obviously that discount isn’t applied if you are outside a minimum term,  but there are many variations , you need to look at your original order ( if it’s still available ) or look at the way your bill is made up , or call ….if you don’t want to continue to access this  content you need to cancel it.

Re: BT sport contract ends soon

Thank you very much for the clarification every one. As it seems as if my sport contract will be on  rolling 30 day contract I think I will wait and see what the price is going to be and if it is unsatisfactory for me I will cancel after the first month or try and get a cheaper price.

Re: BT sport contract ends soon

When your BT Sport contract ends, it will likely stop appearing on your BT bill. Discovery+ may prompt you to subscribe directly, but it won’t auto-renew unless you’ve opted in. For an alternative, you could explore the freecine to watch sports and other entertainment without additional subscription fees.
