Champions League extended highlights availability

Only noticed this yesterday evening but the extended highlights for Champions League matches are now only made available on HBO Max for about 24 hours after the end of the match.  Am I right in thinking this is a new restriction for this season?

Fortunately for me I had already watched the Liverpool and Arsenal games at tea time but a heads up for the future to not delay or to record them when broadcast on TNT Sports overnight.  I assume this will also apply to Europa Cup ans Conference Leagues matches.

(my modus operandi is to watch the extended highlights for the British team matches and short highights for the rest for the group stages until and unless there are critical quali matches in the final round)

Re: Champions League extended highlights availability

The rights for this season should be the same as last season as it was a 3 season deal that they secured that commenced with the 2024/5 , continued with 2025/26 and concludes with 2026/27,

British team matches ???

Pretty certain only English teams and Liverpool ( if you know your history)

are in the UCL

As for the rest well critical qualifying matches is simply not going to happen as they're usually out way before then.

Re: Champions League extended highlights availability

Probably  an issue with HBO Max as far as I can see .

The (extended highlight) programmes appear to disappear or get removed from the HBO Max pages with no warrning.

Those that were part watched again simply disappear from continue watching.

Could/should/must do better,

Re: Champions League extended highlights availability

If it were a rights issue then I would also expect the full replays to disappear too but they are still all there.

I can believe that this has always happened and I have just not noticed it before as up to this season I watched the extended highlights on EETV rather than on HBO Max.
And when I said British teams I meant all teams from the UK and a pattern of watching over many seasons. That those teams qualified this year are all from England is neither here nor there (do not even know what the dig at Liverpool is about)
