Re: College football

Just to confirm what Sky originally announced

Fans can tune into Sky Sports NFL from 2pm on Saturday November 18 to watch build-up on College GameDay Live, followed by Louisville at Miami from 5pm. Wake Forest then visit Notre Dame from 8.30pm, followed by Washington on the road against Oregon State from 12.30am in the early hours of Sunday.

So yesterday/last night there were 3 games plus the earlier College GameDay Live.  Bear in mind the Notre Dame  home games are part of a different rights agreement that already existed.

Next week being Thanksgiving does mean some NFL and College games are played on different days/times to normal.

Re: College football

While the coverage is great news, the match selection is somewhat bizarre. As America watches Georgia vs Alabama we will be treated to Tulane vs SMU, along with the players' mothers. I suppose we should be grateful that Washington vs Oregon doesn't clash with some smaller game that can be shown instead.

Re: College football

Again, for those at the back, Sky have made a deal with ESPN for their college football coverage. The SEC is on CBS, not ESPN. Sky can't choose to show a game they don't have the rights to. It's the same reason they're not showing the Big Ten championship game - it's owned by Fox.

Re: College football

The playoffs (both FBS and FCS) and all bar one or two of the Bowl games (Sun Bowl on Fox, and a minor one on Barstool Sports, otomh) are currently owned by ESPN until the end of the 25/26 season.

Re: College football

Matt Sarzyniak's blog is the best place to keep track of all the crunchy complex college football TV contacts (down to how many times each team has to appear on a certain network, etc), as is his accompanying schedules site. Not sure if linking is allowed, but...
