Can anyone shed a light on the future for TNT in relation to it's American Sport's coverage? I've noticed the NBA is back (or never left), any substantive information or anything on the rumour mill?
Hi @Seyley12
It would be now WBD (Warner Brothers Discovery) who would be determing the rights and scheduling on TNT Sports , Eurosport linear channels and the discovery+ app.
Specically on the NBA this was announced when the rights were acquired (Sky Sports had held rights for the previous season)
Other American sport currently includes
Baseball (MLB)
Mixed Martial Arts (UFC)
Professional Wrestling (WWE)
What you no longer get is
The ESPN International content (ie NCAA Collegiate Sport and various programming that filled the College breaks).
To update this thread.
WWE coverage on TNT sports ceased at the beginning of January 2025 . EETV subscribers would if they have or take a Netflix subscription have access.
This week (February 2025)i read this from Discovery + Twitter.
"We do Not have the Media Rights for Major League Baseball in the UK. Thanks, discovery+ Customer Support"
Not sure who has rights to MLB this season.
TNT Sports will not be showing the NBA in the U.K. after the end of the current season. The rights will be held by Sky Sports and Amazon Prime in a new 11 year deal. The new deal involves multiple countries for the new rights holders and stemmed from the domestic deal in the U.S.A. rather than a separate U.K. deal.
So I'm now reduced to the 'Horse' racing channel and Sky Sports freebies.... Thank goodness for YouTube.
I did notice that discovery + has Upcoming MLB Baseball Cubs v Dodgers on 18th March 10am on TNT Sports . I believe this is the first of the Tokyo series games.
There are also MLB regular season games scheduled on discovery plus and TNT sports channels on 27/28th March .
