Unable to verify BT ID

I have just purchased BT Sport's monthly pass with the sole purpose of watching UFC tonight, however it is telling me that I am unable to view it via the BT PC App as I have no activated my BT ID. I cannot activate my BT ID as the email link they have sent me is telling me there is a technical difficulty and to try again later. £25 well spent.

The exact message being "Due to technical error we are unable to validate your email address at the moment. Please try again later." - obviously I cannot try later on as UFC is tonight...
