BT Pro box at another home (renovating transition)

We are renovating a new house.  Yayy.

We have BT Broadband at the current address, and have applied to have BT fibre at the new address.  Also, at the new address, we have order BT TV including the full works package or whatever it's called.

The fibre at the new house is activated Tuesday this week.

Question: Once the line is active at the new house, since we are not moving in for a couple of months can we use the BT Pro box at our current address in the interim?  We got the BT Pro box at the NEW address for two reasons:

1. Since we'll be moving in 2-3 months then didn't want to extend the current contract length (which is open at the moment) of our old house, since we'll clearly be gone in a few months

2. There was a good deal to take both

My fear is that the BT Pro box is tied to a specific line ID, and it wouldn't work.  Are there any similar situations people have had that may allay my concerns?  If it comes to it can the box be transferred to current home without extending the contract?

Hope this makes some sense 😉

AFAIK, If there is no BTTV account at the current address it’s not likely that any paid for content will be available if you plug the box supplied for the new address in at the address without a BTTV account, the box doesn’t have any account info , that’s supplied by the ‘line’ , free to air TV and VOD apps will probably be OK

You should be able to use the Now & Discovery+ apps on the box, or any other device, with the credentials for the new account. But you won't be able to use the EPG to watch or record, as that will be tied to the other line.

Or cancel the new provision, add BT/EETV to the current address & just do a home move when you're ready.

Re: BT Pro box at another home (renovating transition)

That's the problem I have.  If I subscribe to BT TV at current address it will most likely reset my line contract to 24 months.  Then, when I actually move, there will already be a line at the destination address so I'll get charged the remainder of the line (not TV since I'll gladly carry that across)?

Not if you cancel the new line, which is what I suggested...
