IPC 6023 ERROR MESSAGE

After years of no problems, I have suddenly fallen victim to this issue when trying to use internet channels. I can see it is a common problem and I have tried all of the suggested fixes without success. I found the below suggestion and thought it might be worth a try. I didn't know you could do a factory reset without losing recordings. However, after I reach the enter  Maintenance mode  y/n , on pressing the power button nothing happens and the box just continues its slow start up routine. Any idea why or how I can factory reset without losing recordings please? I know that taking this IPC 6023 fault to an online advisor would probably be more annoying than the fault itself, so am trying to avoid that if possible.

Re: IPC6023

Hi @Danrobbo65 I'm sorry that didn't work, one more thing to try is a factory reset ensuring to choose the option to keep your recordings.

  1. Switch the box off and then back on again. A red light should appear on the front panel
  2. Press and hold the down arrow button on top of your box for five seconds until you see ‘Enter Maintenance Mode Y/N’ at the bottom of the screen. When you see this, press the standby/power button
  3. After a few seconds you’ll see the ‘Maintenance Mode’ menu. Choose and select Factory reset, keep recordings using the arrow buttons. This option will allow you to keep your recordings, scheduled recordings, and any personal settings you've made to favourites and playlists

Re: IPC 6023 ERROR MESSAGE

Good morning @homerhotspur!

There's a chance that the instructions you're following here is for a different model of box, as we've had a few of these over the years.

You can find a breakdown of each of the reset options, organised by model, on our help page below:
