Hi. My TV aerial connects to my BT box and then an RF out runs to a 12 year old, 8 way amplifier which should provide TV around the house. But i can only get the freeview channels if using the main TV aerial. All other TVs running from the amplifier give me a very weak signal and a pixelated picture. Is it my config or might the amp need replacing. I honestly dont know when the weak signal issue started as i dont use the other TVs. I was recently given a 5 year old Samsung TV and this is when it was noticed

Tbh it could be a combination of everything as all the individual components are going to degrade the incoming signal. 

Best thing to do is start replacing bits starting with the cheapest

Odd setup as usually the aerial would go to the distributor first. Does it show any signs of life, eg power LED?

Also check that Antenna Out is turned on in the Picture & Sound section of the menu.

I did wonder if the TV aerial should go directly into the amp. I might give that a go. But that would mean running a loop from the amp into my BT TV box?

I'd imagine that the main feed would go to the amp, then amp to DP and then out to your devices. 

The tuners in the Humax boxes are a bit flakey so you may also need an attenuator at the Youview box end if you end up getting too much signal. The attenuator will allow you to gradually reduce signal strength until you hit a stable point

You would only need to run a "loop" from the Youview box to the TV if you run out of feeds from the 8-way distributor.

It was an obvious solution in the end. I purchased a replacement aerial booster and bingo. Not sure why the previous died but it was at least 12 years old. Thank you for your replies
