Parental controls required on BT TV even though they're set to off

Go to solution

Everytime i change a channel on sky cinema it states parental control pin needed & requires me to enter my pin, even though parental controls in settings (restrict rated programmes) are set to off.  This is so frustrating and can't be expected behaviour.  Can anyone tell me how to overcome this as what's the point of having the choice of whether to activate parental controls if they're on no matter what you choose.

Hello @Bcaine

I don’t have Sky Cinema on BT TV to check, but I do know this was expected behaviour on other platforms as it is an OFCOM requirement for certain pre-watershed content.

Parental controls cannot override this behaviour on any TV platform I believe.

Yes it is very frustrating but it is exactly the same on the sky platform up until 8pm.

It's an OFCOM requirement on subscription tv so they can show adult oriented content outside of the watershed hours... It's normally only on the movie channels but there is the occasional program on Sky's entertainment channels
