Could you confirm which hardware you are experiencing the issue on .. your post mentions NOW box . Is this correct ?
If so then if there is no BT or EETV hardware involved then there will be limited support other than general advice here.
That said purple screens can often be due to HDMI handshaking issues between the box in use and the TV. So check the HMDI cables are fully connected and if possible try with a different HDMI cable and/or alternative HdMI port on the TV.
