Hi all 👋
So, I've done research on the tinternet but I am getting confused by all the information.
Earlier this year my parents purchased a ROKU TV for their bedroom but when tuned in it only came up with ~30 channels. This wasn't a problem as such, until Saturday 26/10/24 when my Mum turned the TV on and realised EVERY FV channel (100+) were available to watch which she was SO excited about 🤔. Except, when she turned it on again Sunday 27/10/24 it was back to having ~30 channels again 😤 and she was so disappointed.
Before 26/10 I ordered and received a 4G/5G filter (LABGEAR 4G/5G FILTER TV INTERFERENCE AERIAL FILTER GOVERNMENT APPROVED) for the aerial connection into their bedroom and when it was in place there was absolutely no difference in the channels available (even after retuning the TV). I have also tried a 4G (only) filter (B1 TELEVES 404401 LTE/4G CONSUMER CHANNEL 59 - supplied directly from FV) and again there is only the select few channels available.
To me, this means that ALL of the FV channels can be and were received and available on 26/10 via their current aerial but there is something stopping it.
I am assuming that a 4G/5G local tower was turned off, for some reason on the 26/10, for all the FV channels to be accessible on and yet I don't know 'HOW' to stop the tower interference outside of the filters I have already tried 😡
Does anyone have any experience on what I need to do or how to overcome this problem???
Do these filters need to inserted/fitted at a certain point in the aerial feed (currently fitted/tried at the end of the aerial extention into the bedroom)? Do these filters actually work? Is there an actual filter that is confirmed to work?
All and any help is very much appreicated!

Do you know which transmitter your parent's TV aerial is pointing at? Is it a rooftop aerial?
If you put their address in to this page, it tells you at the top what their predicted transmitter is:
https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-channel-checker
Freeview channels are grouped in to "multiplexes", the main transmitters carry all 6 multiplexes, but most of the smaller relay stations only carry 3 of them.
It could be that your parent's area is served by a 3 multiplex relay, but on the 26th October there may have been enhanced propagation conditions which brought in a more distant 6 multiplex transmitter temporarily.
.
Do they have a "main" TV & is so, does that receive all channels?
Is the new TV connected to the same aerial & if so, how?
Hi @Paul608085 , @chrisjp & @rbz5416
Thank you all for your feedback it is very much appreciated 👍😁
Well, as it happens, I visited my parents on Thursday and Mum was giddy as she had turned on her TV on Sunday and found she had all the channels to view again and they were still available when I was there 🙄
I have no idea 'how' this happened as she hasn't changed anything and hadn't been able to get all channels for many years 🤔
Keeping my 🤞 that it stays that way but if not I know where to come 😊
Have a great weekend all!!
