Not really sure if this is the best place to ask but hopefully someone will know.

If I buy a phone outright from the EE Store will the phone be network locked to EE/BT or as I'm just buying the phone only with no sim or contract will it be unlocked?

A SIM-free handset should always be unlocked but in any case, it's been illegal to sell a locked handset since December 2021.
