As I suspected, absolute garbage.

We had to pay about £40,000 as a group of residents last year to get Community Fibre's FTTP as there wa sno sign of FTTP on our local roads from BT. CF only operate in London - we are outer London - so that may be no use to anyone else. Over 10 years ago I had to raise about £20k just to get openreach to get the right kind of power to the local box so that our copper wires could watch TV and my son found a good openreach man who handled difficult cases to help.   When i did the fundraising about a decade or more  ago  I was very impressed that neighbours paid even though paying meant those who didn't pay could also benefit from the better service.

Those were the days.. my friend, but with BT it looks as if mine will soon too end.... 

You mention loyalty and long commitments and its all gone... Will it ever return, I somehow doubt it.
