Is the change from BT to EE back on?

I've just logged onto MyBT, to be presented with:

Is the move back on, or is this some app glitch???

Reading what it says, I can only conclude that I'm in a time warp and it's April the 1st.

It just reinforces the point that no one at BT/EE actually talk to each other.  Most times when I contact them I often feel I am better informed then the front line staff.

Re: Is the change from BT to EE back on?

The change of senior management halted the policy of removing BT as a consumer brand , it’s unclear if that also means the push towards EE being the BT Group main consumer brand was also halted , both the veto on killing BT as a consumer brand and EE being the preferred choice can co-exist….or it could be the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

If they want to present EE as the preferred provider, they’ll have to buck its image up first.

Even allowing for the bias toward people only usually posting when unhappy, there are a lot of very unhappy voices on their forum.  (And people jumping ship because of the prices).

Re: Is the change from BT to EE back on?

So I only really looked at the first page of the advert!

Page 2 tells me I can upgrade to 1.6Gbps.  In a strange spot with this, since my neighbour switched to EE 1.6Gbps - on a six-month freebie, I sporadically get 1.2Gbps download anyway.  Contrary to how this usually works, it seems my speed increases when she's online!

Page three tells me I can get additional discounts on EE Mobile and SIM plans.  I kinda checked on this when I was coming up to the upgrade window, and the mobile plan I'm on is overall better - sameish ballpark!

While page 4 tells me it'll "Run your home smarter".  Seriously, what is EE going to do that makes my home "run smarter"? It's already significantly smarter than most!

Ooh, I like it.  So all I need to do is get the neighbours either side to pay for 1.6Gb and I can just get 50Mb and take advantage of their speed!  I like it.

Re: Is the change from BT to EE back on?

If they are indeed “merging the reliability, engineering and security of BT with the innovation and brilliant customer service of EE” then there should be no need for any migration from BT to EE.

Migration is only needed when 2 separate organisations exist. If they’re being merged there should be just one organisation and no need for any migration.

So this ad-speak doesn’t actually make any sense

Re: Is the change from BT to EE back on?

I STILL get the "BT Broadband is becoming EE" every time I use the MyBT app!
