Mobile and Social Tariff

A friend hopes to sign up to BT Social Tariff, her mobile is not with BT but Vodaphone , I think.

She is interested in upgrading her old phone, an Apple 6s to a newer phone, one with a larger screen. Does anyone know if any deals are available, she would not be in a position to buy outright

BT social tariff is Home Essentials - This includes unlimited broadband, there's an option for calling plans if needed.

EE Social tariff is EE Basics - It's a simo only plan on a rolling 30 day term.
