Price increase

Go to solution

So, a price increase again mid contract. So fed up that loyal customers get punished yet BT constantly advertise offering discounts to new customers.  We are pensioners and being pushed to the limit with rising prices. We have broadband, landline, BT TV and two sim only mobiles with BT. As oldies we prefer to have everything in one place.  We have been loyal to BT for decades but at the end of this contract we will look elsewhere. It is pointless being loyal as it obviously counts for nothing.

Of course "loyalty" counts for nothing. You are just a customer, nothing more nothing less. If you want a good deal you should check out what other providers offer then call BT 0800.800.030 and try and negotiate a good deal. If they do not offer what you like then be prepared to walk away and take up one of the other provider's offers.

New and existing customers get a price change annually, it happens in March of each year,  so every customer is impacted equally regardless of how long they've been with BT.
BT support what's known as Annual Best Tariff Notifications (ABTNs), this means existing customers can receive the same offers as a new customer would pay, as you near the end of your promotional term you'll be notified via the End of contract notification (ECN), this will explain what happens when the minimum term ends, along with offers to retain your custom.

Depending on your circumstances, if you receive qualifying benefits you might be eligible for BT Home Essentials which is a social tariff for them who need it the most, please don't post any of your private info here, read the link and if you think you qualify there's a number to call or you can do it online yourself.
