Me too, my renewal offer through MyBT was absolute utter garbage.
It is a good baseline however to see what prices other ISP’s are offering, especially if another ISP is offering a decent Reward Card offer to switch. That’s why I switched, because it was utterly pointless even negotiating with BT. I got exactly the same product I had with BT for £10 a month cheaper plus a Reward Card. It was a no brainer.
I would however seriously think about whether it is worthwhile negotiating a renewal or a switch this close to the end of the financial year.
So why are you still here?
Because whether you like it or not, it’s a public forum so anyone can join in!
Not only that, even though I’m now with PN, it’s still BT/EE whatever clothes all three of them are wearing. The points covered in this forum are therefore equally relevant across all three forums despite what you or anyone else might think.
Indeed I don’t know why BT/EE/PN don’t just share a single forum platform. The Moderators here also moderate the EE forum. What’s more, there’s quite a few regular contributors here who also regularly contribute to the EE forum.
Like it or lump it, that’s why I’m still here 👍
Have you used the EE forum?
The clientele and technical know-how on here is far superior.
Plus, I got banned from the EE forum once. (Good job I use unique credentials on every forum).
Indeed I have/do occasionally but under a different credential.
At the end of the day, none of it actually really matters. Folks loyal to one particular platform are always going to be biased. FWIW, I do think this forum is better for technical assistance. I wonder what the Moderators who have to split their time between two forums think!
The most entertaining is Sky's.
A lot of the posts on there make here look down-right intellectual.
With that attitude, I’m not surprised you got banned 😂
To be fair, I didn't actually get banned.
As I told someone not a million miles away on this thread, I believe in giving as good as I get.
In this case some guy started on as he didn't like the reply I'd given him, so I put him straight on a few things. Suffice it to say, I got a telling off from the mods. The problem was every time I subsequently posted it seemed to have to go through quarantine. I gave up in the end, deleted the account and created a new one.
Edit: A not untypical Sky post consists of "Broadband not on"
It's a good job this is now in the lounge 😆
I'm still waiting for a retort from my friend earlier. I'm most disappointed 😩
